Forms won't work: Frontpage Extensions Problem?

Z

Zanshin

I have created several forms in Frontpage and published them to the
site, which is hosted locally on a server. I had previously installed
the Frontpage Server Extensions 2002 on that server.

I can't seem to get the form to post results to the
_private\formrslt.htm no matter what. I'm not sure whether there's a
problem with the form, or with the Frontpage extensions.

I always get the (rather unhelpful) message:

FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more
details.

I'm stumped on this - would appreciate any insight!

Have you looked in the application event log? This is
under Administrative Tools, Event Viewer.

Quote oftehn, though, these are file system permission
problems.

I've checked the application log, and there's nothing there. What
kind of files system permissions were you thinking of? I tried
changing the permissions on the _private\formrslt.htm to allow write,
thinking that might be the problem, but it didn't work.

The anonymous Web account (or whatever the visitor is using) needs
Change permission.

Try this:
