I installed iis and frontpage server extensions and then tried to build a
site with frontpage and publish it to the C:\inetpub\wwwroot. ow some of the
components don't work because of the frontpage server extensions aren't
right????

Can someone help me out here? Please?

If you are running IIS and the FPSE, open http://localhost in FrontPage, add
a new folder, right click on the new folder and convert it to a web, and
create your web site in the new web. You don't need to publish from one
location to another on your own PC.

If I remember correctly about fpse, I have to use the first option in the
Remote Web Site Properties or otherwise the fpse' may be screwed up (the
first option is "FrontPage or SharePoint Services".

After reading you post I was able to publish to http://localhost and it
didn't ask for the password like it had been, but it seems that some of the
components aren't working correctly while others are. I think I remeber that
the fpse' had to be removed and reinstalled before when I was using GoDaddy
as a server because using ftp had screw up the fpse'. I will at this point
assume that fpse got screwed somewhere and try from that direction.

Any further advice?

If you are creating a web site on your PC, you don't have to publish it to
localhost. You can create it as http://localhost/yourwebsite and create your
pages there. When you are ready to publish from http://localhost/yourwebsite
to your space at GoDaddy, yes, you would make sure that the remote web site
properties say that the remote site has the FrontPage server Extensions
installed.
