Can a text box be assigned a specific format ie. Heading 1 so when a user
types into the box it automatically is formatted as Heading 1?

Insert a text box set the style as Heading 1 and save the lot as an autotext
or formatted autocorrect entry.

Thanks for your assistance Graham.

How do you 'save the lot' as auto text etc?

Select the text box (by clicking its edge, not the inner area) and press
Alt+F3. Give it a name that you can remember.
