Form won't work.

My Frontpage 2003 forms won't work at my host (and their not very
helpful). I have carefully followed and refollowed various tutorials -
AND SUCCESSFULLY had these forms work at a free tripod site - so I am
confident they are configured correctly. (I would like the receive
email and write to another html function to work).

More info:
- Other users at my web-host say their FP forms work fine
- my exact same forms work perfectly at Tripod
any ideas?

Thanks and regards,

For Front Page forms to function, your site must be
hosted on a server that supports Front Page Extensions
(to process the form input) and email transport must be
enabled (to transport the email).

These are things the host must either do for you or allow
you to do through a webpage of theirs.

If your current host cannot or will not help you, look
elsewhere for your hosting services.

The FrontPage Server Extensions may not be installed on the
host's server. Enter your domain.com at this site and
check: http://www.dnswiz.com/fptype.htm

Depends on your host supporting the Frontpage extensions with the mail transport
component active - Tripod does - but does your host support them?

All though you've said others with the same host can get forms to work - may not
necessarily mean they're using the FP functionallity, they could be using a
mailer script from a third party.

Do you need to get your host to install the FP extensions, as not everyone will
develope their pages in FP, and the host may only install the extensions on
request.

http://www.dnswiz.com/fptype.htm does give false negatives. It says "No"
for my Unix site at www.rxs-enterprises.com, which is running FP2002
extensions.

Another check is to use www.example.com/_vti_inf.html (replace
www.example.com with your URL). If the page exists, it tells the version of
extensions that have been installed, but not whether they are running
correctly or not.

If that fails, then open the site in FrontPage - if you can, the extensions
are there and Tools->Site Settings - general Tab will give the version.

thx for everyone's help.

After 20 emails with my host they told me it was a known bug with PLESK
and now magically everything works.
