Yes, I built it. I've never bought a ready made system.

Parts are various ages, the grafix card is the newest, the DVD-ROM drive is the oldest.

Not a bump, but price now reduced to £175.00, if anyone's interested.

If it no sell, considering selling parts seperately.

But. I'd retain the XP2400 and instead sell an XP1700.

Good idea - I'll do that :)

Tomorow ;)

It is a good price, I know, but it's hard selling a tower to computer enthusiasts, all they wanna do is buy parts, lol

The system is weak on hard drive and DVD-ROM drive, but other than that, for a medium powered tower system, it's actually quite respectable.

Only reason I'm selling is that this is the system I used for Win98 & Linux and I just never seem to use it much, not enough time, really.

Who cares - for sub £200 it's a bargain! good graphics, good memory, good processor, good motherboard...!!!

I'm sure there will be someone around that this machine would be perfect for :)

Umm... Dosent look like anyone wants it.

Are you going to try eBay, or sell it in pieces?

Not sure.

I haven't tried Hexus yet.

Also, I could take it to this shop in Bromley that buys and sells second hand stuff, Cex, they'd probably give me a fair price for it.

Or I may even keep it and just run Mandrake 10.1 on it.

I still be thinking.

I doubt if I'll break it into parts, but that's still an option.

I've sold stuff to Cex before, they give a fair price, imo, but obviously not as much as I'd get in a private sale.

I'm still undecided what to do...

A little update, yes, I'm still trying to sell this thing ;)

I've changed the spec a little, basically threw out old DVD ROM drive and added a Pioneer A106 DVDRW drive. Also added a second (new) 20Gb IDE hard drive; mouse; keyboard; speakers and printer.

I figure this will cost at least £35.00 to ship or I can deliver within M25 circle, North Kent or Surrey. The bass woofer is very heavy.

So, asking price includes delivery:

Gigabyte GA700N Pro 2 Motherboard. Latest Bios; LAN; 5.1 Sound; USB2; Firewire; SATA; RAID.
AMD XP2400 CPU (2Ghz) Stock cooler
512Mb PC3200 Hinax Memory (2 x 256Mb in dual memory mode)
1 x IBM IDE 20Gb Hard Disk
1 x Maxtor IDE 20Gb hard disk (new)
XFX Nvidia FX5700LE Graphics card (with new heatsink/fan) 128Mb
Pioneer A106 DVDRW, single layer DVD/CD Burner
Floppy drive
Standard midi beige case, blue led's, Jeantech 350W PSU
All internal rounded cables
Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse
Microsoft Explorer keyboard
Reveal 2.1 speaker system, active, woofer, 2 x satellites, volume/bass/treble control, beige
Canon S750 Inkjet Printer, with new spare black Ink Cartridge

£260.00

There's one small fault with the loudspeaker system, the 3D surround/normal switch broke, so I took it out, but it sounds very good indeed (it's locked on 'normal' stereo sound).

If this doesn't sell shortly, I shall consider selling parts seperately, along with a few other bits and pieces I have.

Well, I've been messing about with a few Linux distros on it, quite interesting, but it now has XP Pro/SP2 currently residing on hard disk, just waiting to fly outta here ;)

Hey there, Me here,

great PC..drooling.... I want, gimme gimme gimme

1 question though, and please dont kick me for asking.
How much is ()175 in U.s. Currency?(unfortunately its true, im in USA)
And are you willing to ship thus far?

perferably i would take the tower only, my current excess of accessories is overwhelming.

I'm asking £250.00 for system, inc shipping within UK, that works out to $438 at current exchange rates.

But.

1) Shipping cost to New York would be high, probably around £60.00 to £70.00 at a guess.

2) PSU is UK mains 250 volt, but there's possibly a 110 volt switch on it, I'd have to look.

3) It would take at least a week to get there.

4) There would be a small charge from your bank to convert dollars to UK pounds, and sending pound notes is probably the only option we have, which entails a risk of cash getting lost in the post.

I allowed around £35.00 for shipping in UK, so if shipping to USA cost £70.00 (and that's only a guess) total cost of system including shipping to you, in dollars, would be $500.00.

Doesn't really seem viable, does it?
