Footers not showing up

Recently we hadded a background image to the master page. Now none of the
footers show up - even when I remove the image. I have deleted and restored
all the placeholders, checked the font formatting - everything I can think
of. Any help? Thanks

Did you just add the image to the master slide, or did you add it via the Format
| Background... | Fill Effects... | Picture | Select the image of your choice,
and then Apply to all?
