footer present, but can't edit

Hi Folks,
I have a file in 2007 with a very small footer at the bottom of each slide.
I cannot edit it though. I have checked the master slide displays as well as
the footer settings, but this footer does not turn up anywhere. Is there any
other way this footer would appear outside of the standard footer settings
and master slide? Thanks!

Hi Matt

I would use the selection pane (home tab -> editing group -> select drop
down -> selection pane) to pinpoint the errant footer by turning everything
off one by one until I could identify what it actually is - if it is called
'footer placeholder number' then it is a 'real' footer, if not it is an
element on a slide master somewhere (remember to check the mother master
(big one at top) as well as all the master layouts). Once you know what type
of element it is it will be easier to track down.

Oh, and when you say 'standard footer settings' where exactly are you
looking?
