Following steps to make a template doesn't work - suggestions?

Hi there,

I followed the steps (as found in the help section) to make a template so
that we can use this as "stationary." It save the document as an MS word as a
..dot.

But when I go into it to insert text, the template is not working because
the text goes all over the place. And it looks like the elements, which
should be "locked in place" are not in fact locked.

What step(s) am I missing? I have MS Word 2002.

Are you creating a form? Use table cells with fixed dimensions to lay
it out. See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/tblsfldsfms/LinesInForms.htm.

If you want to, you can insert text form fields in the cells and then
protect the form; this means that users cannot add text outside of the
fields. For more about this, see the links in the article mentioned
above.
