Is there a way to set folders so all will open with the files "Listed"? I
don't care for the icons taking up all the room.

A registry fix would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Make sure that under the View Tab, you have Remember each folders settings
is checked.

Don

The problem may be the number of settings remembered. Originally the
maximum was 400 but this can be increased.

Download and install Power Toy TweakUi
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

In TweakUi select Explorer, Customisations and you will see an easy way
to increase / decrease the default registry setting.

Hope this helps.

In a way yes; Once the icon listing is changed to "List" they stay except on
my Titanium thumb drive". On it they need to be reset after each booting.

The annoying part is, I have three hard drives in my computer and another
hard drive on my network. I'd rather the files would default to "list" and
then require a change to icons. I use icon listing on a +/- dozen open
folders.

Looks like "if you can't beat them, join um". <G>

But thanks for the effort.

Looks like some good instructions there. I'll do a save and look at it
carefully before going into the registry or other areas that are saturated
with land mines.

Thanks again Gerry.

Take care,

don
