folders or search default in explorer window

Annoyingly, i seem to have somehow changed the action of a left double click
on an folder in Windows XP explorer. It opens a new search window, based in
the current folder. how can i set it to just display a list of enclosed
files/folders in the same (or a new) window... ie the default action?
