Explorer Search

I seem to have inadvertantly changed my search settings
Now when I dbl click a folder in explorer (or my computer) A search window
opens instead of the folder
I can't seem to figure out how to undo this

Any help?

Hi Steve,

I don't have it on any workstations, but my guess is that it's "Windows
Search 4.0" that has infiltrated your system.

Look in your Add/Remove Programs to get rid of it. Disregard any
uninstall dialog boxes that try to scare you into not removing it
(because other programs were installed after).

To add to what "Terry R." had to say, you may want to go to this site
and try out 'Folder Association Fix' :

...it's a very reputable site and you will have no problems if you use
it.


However, if the cause of this is not addressed, then it may well happen
again if you're not careful.

If you had indeed, installed 'Windows Desktop Search 4.0' then I would
uninstall it.

The benefits of having it on your system are outweighed greatly by the
downturn in system resources.
