Folders mysteriously disappear

I am using XP PRo on a custom buildt machine. My folders from various
locations are acting strangely. Sometimes when I try to click on a folder and
open it, it disappears. The screen flickers, then reappears with nothing on
the desktop, then everything reappears onthe desktop but the folder is gone.

Sometimes a folder will open when clicked, but the icons of the files inside
do not display properly and i get the following error message:
AppName: explorer.exe
ModVer: 6.0.2900.2802
AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180
Offset: 00001b95
ModName: browseui.dll

however one other time the ModName was urlmon.dll

Then immediately Dr Watson Postmordem Debugger shows up and hangs up the
machine.

Anyone ever seen this and can give any advice?

Sounds eerie! Have you called a priest for an exorcism yet? (just
kidding!)

While I haven't seen this particular problem - quite a few errors can be
fixed by going to Start...Run...and typeing in "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without
the quotes) and then pressing Enter.

It may ask you for your XP installation CD - so have it handy. If it does
ask for the CD - please visit Windows Update immediately afterwards!
