When clicking on 'any' folder the search window comes up rather than the
folder contents. If I then click on the menu bar 'folder' icon, I get the
folder view. How do I reset back to the 'folder' contents as the default?

Go to the following website and look on Line 18, right column. Click the
"Search Opens When Double Clicking A Folder" link and download the file.
Double click the file to install.

regsvr32 /i shell32
