Hello Guys,
I got a problem with my Windows; I can’t hide the contents of my system32
folder (System Tasks are not coming). The contents of system32 folder are
hidden (by default). And Windows hides the System drive (which is containing
windows) and the following folders (which are system folders):-
WINDOWS
System32 &
Program Files.
My problem is this, I can hide the rest of the folders (windows and program
files) and the system drive but I can’t hide the system32 folder.
(Almost 5 - 6 days before I was able to hide the system 32 folder too by the
option coming in the system tasks of “Hide the contents of this folderâ€)
Now as I define the system tasks...System tasks comes in system folders,
also system tasks comes in my computer if you note. If there is nothing
coming on the left side when you open any folder in Windows Explorer or My
computer then that option will be enabled by going to Control Panel >> Folder
Options >> General >> Mark Show common tasks in folders.
Now moving on to my issue….System tasks are not coming on the taskbar,
instead of it, Picture tasks are coming (view as a slide show, order prints
online, print pictures...)
I do not know how it happened but I noticed this problem a couple of days
before.
My System32 folder is also containing images of .gif & .jpg format and it is
like icon pictures and arrows and it was on the following 2 paths:
c:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe
c:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\html\mouse\images
One thing which I noticed more... In windows folder, on standard buttons bar
(which is above the address bar) View button appears along with Folders
button (View button is also present on the menu bar of the explorer) so if we
click the view button five options comes
(Thumbnails,Tiles,Icons,List,Details) and normally it also comes on each of
the folder. But on my system32 folder, one more option is coming if we click
View, it is of filmstrip and this option comes on that folder which we
customize and its option of “What kind of folder do you want†we change to
any one of the following:
.. Pictures (best for many files) OR
.. Picture album (best for fewer files).
Other wise filmstrip option does not comes in the view, and if we have
selected any of the above two options picture tasks come on the taskbar and
this is happened on the system32 folder. I have also tried both of the
Restore Defaults options:
1. Control Panel >> Folder Options >> General >> Restore Defaults
2. Another one, which is >> Folder Options >> View >> Restore Defaults.
But it did not work. I also tried the sfc /scannow command but I found no
solution. We can not share or customize the system32 folder so how do picture
tasks appear there? I am sure that there are some changes done and it might
be done in registry too. I scanned the full system with Kaspersky 6.0
antivirus and windows live one care safety scanner many times but I got no
detected files.
Please tell me the way of removal of this thing and the registry key too...
