folder view resets itself :: BUG!

Chad

I know every one here has this default Vista (even XP) problem. The problem
is that the folder customization / layout never stays the way you set it,
even minutes later after closing/re-opening explorer.

This is driving me insane. For example, in explorer under Computer I choose
large icons. Close, re-open its back to list view instead. Sometimes other
folders will somehow change views by themselves too. This is really annoying.

Someone suggested a fix months ago, but I do not remember how. Would
appreciate tips on this. I *do* already have checked on "remember folder's
view settings" enabled as well.

Running:
Vista Ultimate 64bit w/ SP1

I tried this method, made it even worst:

I tried this method too, almost worked:

I can't say it's a bug, because I don't have the problems you're talking
about. If this was a bug, then more people would be reporting it looking for
help. However, there is nothing to say that the O/S has been mis-installed
in this area that is cussing you some problems.

I am willing to bet that *everyone* has this problem but some people just
don't care or don't notice. I do care and I do notice and it is exceedingly
frustrating and annoying.

As I have said before, if MS invested more resources into solving problems
like this and such other basic things like copying and stability instead of
wasting those resources on such incredibly useless "features" like
Dreamscene then Vista would be a much better product that attracted much
less scorn.

Same problem here Vista Ultimate 32bit w/ SP1. I have seen quite a few post
here and other places about this problem. A Google search turned up this:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html
which if I remember correctly was the fix posted here a while ago. I haven't
tried it yet as I am busy doing real work in XP, while Vista is just a toy
to me right now. I'll try it if/when I get around to it.

G'day

Weird, I've never had such issue.
Probably a wild guess, But can you please tell the name of your security
software?
