I believe folder synchronization is causing extremely slow email receiving,
extremely slow Web surfing and the speed at which other PCs on our network
can access a db on my PC.

What is folder synchronization?

How do I disable, at least temporarily?

What type of account? What version of Outlook?

Outlook 2003 SP2

Frankly, I don't know what "folder synchronization" is in this context,
since I think there should be none, unless you're working offline.

Brian; Are you saying folder synchronization should not be occurring when I
am online?

What is folder syncrhonization for?

How do I turn syncrhonization off?

As far as I know, not for POP accounts.
What is folder syncrhonization for?

How do I turn syncrhonization off?

Outlook's Help has an explanation.
