Office Outlook Is Synchronizing Folders - VERY SLOW

Jason

Periodically I:
1) see "Microsoft Office Outlook Is Synchronizing
Folders" when I click on the icon on the system tray
lower left hand corner, and
2) see that the email receive speed is EXTREMELY SLOW
like only a few bytes per second, after I click on
send/receive in Outlook 2003 Professional, even though I
have broadband connection at close to 1 Mbps/second
download speed.

Why?
How can I control and prevent this extreme slowness which
randomly happens once in awhile? I cannot afford this
unpredictability as I tend to carry a very busy field
(customer) visit schedule and travel staying at hotels
often. Not being able reliably check emails before I
leave my hotel room to see customers kills me.
Help and clear advice please!! Thanks.

Same problem here. Very frustrating.

Put Outlook 2003 on my laptop but wish I hadn't and stuck to Outlook XP.

Same here. I get 33 bytes every 4 seconds and before it even receives
4 emails outlook times out and restarts the send/receive again! So
basically I'm stuff going into my mail server and viewing my msgs
manually :(

I even disabled Mcafee antivirus and firewall. Same thing! Anyone
have a solution?

Thanks,

Shawn
