Folder properties

It seems to me that setting the folder type is a little
confusing.
If I set a folder type to let's say Photo album and
choose to apply to all subfolders, only the parent folder
gets changed.
On the other hand Windows XP seem to think that the
Program Files catalog contains pictures. And there is
nothing I can do to change the properties of that folder!

Changing the folder type to Photos gives you the Picture Tasks option and
filmstrip option.
This is different than the view option of a folder files display
(thumbnails, list, details). To change this you click on the last icon on
your top bar and change the view to what you want. However, to keep
different views for different folders you also need to open Folder options
and then check the box "Remember each folder's view".
This way, you can set one folder view to thumbnails, one to details, one to
list, etc. and when you open them they will stay in the view you selected.
