folder options

my folder options icon has a red check mark on it what does it mean. I cannot
open adobe reader and i feel this has something to do with it
 
Hi ncg,

Can I have a screenshot please? Meantime, try this:

Click Start, Run and type CONTROL FOLDERS
Does Folder Options applet open?
