I always want any window that opens to show me files to have it use the
details setting. I would love to know how to do this for any an all
applications. Example; I use Paintshop Pro and want to open and save a
picture. When I click on open it takes me to a window of the last place I
looked for files. It always opens in the List mode, not the details mode.
I then have to click on the icon select details and then go to modify so I
can see the latest date. My windows explorer stays in the correct mode but
it is all the applications that seem to only default to List Mode.
Would love to be able to make ALL file windows show in details mode.
I am using windows XP PRo SP2

Thanks

AFAIK there isn't currently a Windows global setting to do that, and there
is no easy way for an application writer to set the default view to details
within their particular application. The Windows control would need
updating, to allow this functionality.

Simple things should be simple and complex things should be possible.

It's application dependent. No way to set this globally in windows.
