View Files: Details - Sorted by Name

There must be a permanent folder view setting somewhere in XP because
everytime I open Windows Explorer, files are in Detail View [which I want],
but they are always in LIST mode, which I do NOT want. List mode makes
finding files very difficult.

When I open Win Explorer, I always want to see the Details View with Files
sorted by NAME. Where and how can I make that the default?

In Windows Explorer change to the view you want and then select Tools,
Folder Options, View and Apply all folders.
