I am searching for my contacts data, which appears to have been lost or overwritten.

In the 'program files' folder, there is a subfolder named 'support.com'. Within this folder is one called 'backup'. It is within this folder that I found a subfolder named 'ou'. Inside this one is one called 'outlook.pst'. There is a file in here without an extension, of almost 10mb which I believe is the only repository of my contacts database, which I lost through a renaming of my computer, thereby overwriting my profile.

Does anyone have any information on how to open or restore this file (named 17540096_5d4dd1bab_)? Or maybe another location of the data in some form?

Nothing I have tried works, including Windows backup/restore. There are perhaps 500 or more entries in my contacts db. I am quite concerned about recovering them.

Cheers,
Nick

Thank you. I have emailed that company. I never knew that a way existed for an outside entity to create backup folders on my system without my knowledge.
