Folder attributes and permissions

Hi - working with XP home on a local net at home. I have a folder on the XP
that is marked "Private" and "Read Only"....I can not find any way to remove
those. The folder was shared until recently - I THINK it may have happened
after installing the new NET updates but that is not a certaintly.

The 'Share' tab is there and the checkboxes have a checkmark but they are
greyed out...........can't find anything that will retstore them. I am the
ONLY user of the network and am definitely Admin

I am having the same problem...specifically I now can't update my Norton Antivirus Definitions because the folder is read-only....did you find solution
