Read-Only Checkbox in Folder Property window

The Read-only checkbox in the Folder Properties > General tab has not two but
three settings.

1. Default: dark blue-green, no checkmark
2. Click once: grey & no checkmark
3. Click again: grey & checkmark

Is there any difference between settings 1 & 2? Cannot find anything about
that in Windows help.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Hi Peter,

In Vista, folders cannot be set as Read-only. Only files can be. By
default the box will be filled in with blue. Any changes to this box
will only affect the files inside the folder, then default back to the
blue box. This tutorial may help out on this for you.

Hoep this helps,
Shawn
