Fog and Fungus

Went hiking at the weekend and it was sunny some of the time and foggy at other times. Managed to get above the fog on the N. Yorks Moors and saw this.

It was quite spectacular to see those hilltops like that.

I also found this fungus in a glade and put my hat next to it to show the size. I think it was the largest one I've ever seen, about 12 inches across (30cm for younger viewers)

That is a huge mushroom for sure, doesn't look edible to me.

I've seen low lying mist rolling across the Yorkshire moors but never hilltops isolated by fog - great pic.

I saw the mountain tops on Tenerife poking above low lying fog once, a similar vista.

What a view! Our experience of the fog was traffic related, which wasn't as nice. That's a whopper of a mushroom! Or maybe you just have a really small head... ;)

Those are lovely photos @nivrip, the foggy vista looks very spectacular. And what a huge mushroom (or do I mean toadstool?) :D
