Floppy Disk Failure

I recently bought 3 ASUS A7N8X Motherboards, and when I
load all of them up, I get the message "Floppy Disk
Failure (80)" after bootup. I've got all the cables and
power connections setup correctly. What is causing this
problem. It happens on all three computers.

Hi,

It is most likely incorrect connection of the ribbon
cable. The floppy cable connectors have no right
protection. Make sure the Pin 1 (red marked on the flat
ribbon cable) is correctly located on the mobo and floppy
drive. The Pin 1 on floppy drive is positioned just next
to the power input socket. For the Pin 1 on mobo, refer
to the user manual. Also, the connector on the broken end
of the flat ribbon cable should be connected to the
floppy drive.

Hope it helps.

Peter
