Flatbed scanner not found

Hi All,
Can anyone help me?
I had a computer that ran Win 98 and I had a Plustek USB
flatbed scanner connected. Everything worked well with no
problems. All the functions executed fine with the
software and drivers provided by the manufactuer.
Recently I upgraded my computer with a new Machspeed 8x
AGP motherboard with NaVidia 400 chipset, new 80 GB hard
drive, Readeon 9200 128 MB video card, 512 MB DDR-3200
400mhz memory, AMD 2500 Athelon 1.84 ghz processor, CD
burner, and a 420 watt PS and Windows XP. After I had it
all set up and configured, everything worked beautifully
except the software for the scanner will not detect it.
Windows says that the drivers are installed but the
software cannot find the scanner. I can disconnect the
power to the scanner and reboot, then plug in the scanner
and Windows will detect the hardware on the USB port. I
have taken out the drivers for the USB ports and then
rebooted. Windows will detect the USB ports, PnP installs
the drivers and then detects the scanner. I have gone to
the Plustek website and got new drivers to make sure I had
the latest issue, but the problem remains.

What am I missing??
