Ankit Shah

Hi Everyone,

As of late my IE browser will play anything that has flash in it. I have
uninstalled it reinstalled it multiple times and nothing has changed. I even
manually uninstalled it and delete flash and all the necessary files. I
don't know what to do. I have also used their uninstaller program. I have
windows Xp Pro edition with SP2. I am not sure what to do now.

Also my windows media player plugin does not work on www.launch.com. It
gives me error need to install Windows Media Player 10 again. I did and
nothing happen. It gives me error code 14. This happened the same time as my
flash player.

I do have Giant AntiSpyware program and i think it happen after I ran a scan
and cleanup. But who knows.

Hi Ankit :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Flash Not Working - Warning: Page has Expired

How to block Flash animation in websites?
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/noflash.htm

"Tools, Internet Options/Security/Custom Levels" "Allow META Refresh" must
be Enabled

or.................

Flash & Shockwave not working

A few of things could contribute to the problem. Have you checked your
firewall to see if the ad-blocker or Flash blocker is set to on or block?
Also, there are several Pop-up blockers that will block Flash unless you
turn it off. I had POP-UP Blocker and it would not open Flash at all, and
it took me a while to figure out what was doing it When I unchecked the
Kill Flash it stopped. Some Flash has pop-ups and the blockers will see
them as ads or and kill it any way.

Also, if you have SpywareBlaster installed, be sure you have Kill Flash
unchecked - Open SpywareBlaster - Tools - Click on Flash Killer then uncheck
"Switch off Flash Player" or in v3.1 Disable and block Macromedia Flash (4X
5X & 6X) in Internet Explorer.

or..........................

Disable Flash Player

See: Disable Flash: http://faq.ozoneasylum.com/446/

or..............

Remove Flash, including all registry entries for it. Reboot then go to
Macromedia's site. Since it is Flash based you should get the dialog to
install Flash. Use the removal information at their site here:

or.........

Enable Flash in SP2

Internet Options> Advanced> Security> Check "Allow active content to run in
files on My Computer"

You will, of course, be giving up some of the security provided by SP2.

You can also make My Computer visible in Internet Options> Security to allow
additional tweaking.

Computer" security zone"

Can't install Flash in XP SP2

First, disable the SP2 popup blocker, or any other popup blocker program you
may have.

Also.....try adding macromedia.com to your Trusted Sites in IE"
IE\Tools\Internet Options\Security tab....click on Trusted Sites\Sites
button

Review this article and see if it will provide helpful information on this
issue:

also.....

Allow active content to run in files on My Computer - Windows XP Service
Pack 2:

Remove Flash from Add/Remove programs, including all registry entries for
it. Reboot, then go to Macromedia's site. Since it is Flash based you should
get the dialog to install Flash.
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/playerfaq.htm

However, if you are getting error messages when you click the link, then
your host file, blocked sites under restricted area in IE, or other security
apps that you might be using that can block sites is interfering. Check
your Antivirus, and your Zone Alarm if you have it.

If you have any type of Toolbar or 3rd Party program with an ad blocker,
disable it or uninstall it. Set your security to Medium if you have not
already done so.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
