I was reading a problem that someone called Lee Ann wrote about installing
flash player. i didn't even make a note of when she posted it!

i'm not able to install it on my pc. I keep getting an error message that
says to go to adobe's website with an address that ends 'go/tn_16199'. Tried
that and it didn't work. I read the advice on the previous poster's query
which gave a link to microsoft's website saying that it was a subACL problem.
I followed the instructions for repair, uninstalled and tried to reinstall
flashplayer but no joy.

I don't know what else to do can you help please. Also my media center won't
launch anymore, no idea why and i want to install service pack 3 but want to
know if i really need to back up my pc as i don't have external storage
facilities.

I know it's alot but thank you in advance.

sometimes anti virus
programs can inhibit
the system from being
updated or modified.

so you might try to
disable them first and
retry the flash install.

also, you may want to
hold off on sp3 until you
are sure that sp2 is fully
functional and error free.

because at this time you
have the option to use your
winxp sp2 cd to initiate a
"repair installation",

the above is an automated
method by the genuine cd that
will replace missing or
corrupted system files of
your windows system.

so if you install sp3, you will
loose the option above.

incidentally, you may also
want to tune up your windows:

Installing SP3, itself, can fix a variety of minor problems and small
irritations with your XP system.

There would be no need to 'fix' SP2 first by performing a 'repair
install' , as installing SP3 *also* replaces those same system files in
it's upgrade.

I believe, if you did install SP3 now, there would be a very good chance
that you would have no further problems with your Flash Player
installation.
