its a long story but,

hope someone here can help

attempted an install of linux on another drive as a
dualboot and now I am unable to get into my windows 2000
boot.

uninstalled linux (Mandrake 9.1)

attempted a manual recovery of windows 2000 and of course
it didn't fix the solution.

I installed windows 2000 to another drive and I can still
see all partitions and files without a problem.

I was wondering if anyone has attempted a fixmbr on a
machine with multiple partitions and not had a problem
with losing the partition table.

read several threads on this and braved the attempt
fixmbr resolved it and no problems to partition table
