Fixed icon locations

Phil

Is there any way in XP to fix the locations of the desktop
icons? In Windows many versions ago you used to be able
to "fix" the desktop icons so they didn't move. It seems
that I just get them where I like them, and one slip or
certain click redistributes them.
Thanks,
Phil

Something to try,

Right click any where on the desktop,
click arrange Icons by,

Uncheck Auto Arrange,
click Align to grid,
click Show desktop Icons.

Then click any where on the desktop to get rid of the menu,
drag your Icons where you want them and notice how they jump to the correct
grid alignment.

They should stay there.

Thanks for your reply. The problem is that if you move
them, or some times it seems like they move all on their
own, they never return to the same place..
