Firewire LAN

I am having firewire issues on a number fronts. I have a Toshiba Tecra S2
laptop with Windows XP Professional SP2. I am trying to connect it to my
home PC through the 1394 ports. The home PC operates under Windows XP HE
SP2. When I connect the two computers together through the firewire ports,
what should happen? The computers do not see each other at all, although all
indications are that the firewire ports are all working fine. In the Network
connections, both computers indicate that there is a connection on the
firewire connectors. If I pull a cable, the laptop indicates that a cable
has been disconnected. What are the steps required to enable the two
computers to see each other? Thanks

The simplest way is to run the "Setup a Home or Small Business Network"
wizard on both PCs. This should be available in Control Panel or My Network
Places.

Good luck,

Norman
