Has anyone else had any problems connecting firewire devices?

Sometimes WinXP just doesn't detect them, which usually means a reboot. When
you're working with 4-5 apps at a time, this is a royal pain.

This happens with my DV deck, firewire drives and my external DVD burner
(it's in a firewire case).

Firewire like USB is fully supported in XP. If you're having a
problem with a certain device being detected, it could be the fault of
the device or perhaps a driver problem. Check to make sure the
firewire card or if it's a motherboard connector, is being properly
detected in device manager.

Also, make sure if any of the firewire devices need driver support,
that the drivers are loaded and show up in device manager.
