Hi Andrew,

To see if your 1394 card did install, launch the Windows Control Panel
and go into the System option. Then select the Hardware tab at the top of
this System Properties window. Of the buttons then displayed, click on
Device Manager and the Device Manager window will appear. If your 1394 card
installed correctly then you should see an entry titled "IEEE 1394 Bus host
controllers".
If you don't have that entry then it means that the card was not installed.
So to try to fix that, close the Device Manager window and select the Add
Hardware Wizard button on the Hardware page of the System Properties window.
Follow the steps in the wizard to install your 1394 card.

Thanks,
Chris.

Click Start
Then right click My Computer
Select Properties
Then click the hardware tab.
Click the "Device Manager" button
Scan the list for "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers"

If there are none -- first try shutting down your machine and re-seating the
adaptor card -- it may have popped lose while you were putting it your case
back together.

If it still doesn't show up -- contact the vendor that sold you the adaptor
for repair or replacement.

Hi
Ive just installed a firewire card. After slotting it in, XP never told me
it had new hardware. Is technology this good or is it not installed
properly. How do I find out!
Andy
