Firewall Port for downloading DV video footage.

Hi, hopefully a simple question from a far too simple user! I am trying
unsuccessfully to "capture" video footage from my DV camcorder to my PC
(using software called Pinnacle)..I can't connect the camera?! Talk about
falling at the first hurdle. What is a Firewall 1394 Port? Is this different
to a USB Port.. I am guessing it is. If I don't have a 1394 port is it
possible to buy some sort of adapter that would let me plug a cable in to it?
I would appreciate anyones time in helping me sort this issue. Thank you in
advance.

1394 AKA "Firewire." (not firewall)

Yes it's different from USB.
Yes you can buy an add-on card to give your computer Firewire if you have an
available slot.
