It worked for me too :)
Start>Run regsvr32 hnetcfg.dll [enter]
Also went to your web site and followed your directions. Trend removed 275
viruses. My puter and especially mt internet works sooo much nicer. I
downloaded the free home Avast product too.
My Task manager / ctrl alt delete now works.

Hi steven, I recieved this error too. It was caused by the security
permissions on the windows firewall service which were being set by a group
policy. After changing the permissions I was able to start the service and
then access the firewall settings.
Hope this helps,
Liam.

Hi Erin,
to set this permission. Open the group policy for the computer. Navigate
to Conputer config-> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> System Settings
-> System services. Find the service and either remove or reset the security
settings you require.
Thanks,
Liam.

where the heck is computer config?

In your group policy editor.

If you aren't familiar with group policy, you might do some googling...you
do not want to muck up anything.

That's the same answer that was given for the other post on this subject.
Didn't you realize that from my post?!

See my point?

You've been given the answer. If you don't know what group policy is, or how
to edit it, you can do some reading here:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/winxpgpe.html

You could also do some googling. I didn't give you more specific
instructions because if you are going to be mucking around in group policy,
you need to know what you're doing, or you will likely render your computer
completely unusable.

I don't see your original post (only the reply) so I don't know what
problems you're having that prompt you to ask.
