Firefox question - should be do an overlay install of new v over old?

I think it is considered best to uninstall the old one, then install the
new one. If you don't delete your profile the new install should then
use your old settings and so on.

I've removed the old version (default remove) and than installed the
new version. Al my settings are kept, and it works fine

I think it is considered best to uninstall the old one, then install the

I also delete the contents of Firefox's Program Files folder. Also you
should *always* read the Release Notes for each release.

Several people have been stung by not doing the latter with the 1.5 release.

I did an overlay and had major problems. Back up your profiles if you
decide to go for it.

I decided to go back to 1.0.7 - the extensions I rely on wouldn't
work, FF died when I tried to update a theme that was supposed to be
working in the new version, When it was working, it took much longer
to load than 1.0.7.

I'm going to wait until they fix the bugs

Thank you, everyone. That's what I thought, but each major new
version jump, and I wonder. Big jump from 1.0.6 to 1.5 <g>.
