i keep on receiving a message which is "Files that are required for Windows
to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain
stability Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert
your Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM now." and can anyone tell me about
dllcache because i lost the sound of my pc and when i search for the
sndvol32.exe it is found on that folder.

What you could try is to run System File Checker using the command sfc
/scannow but be sure to have your install disk handy. The link below
explains more about System File Checker. I would also be sure to run malware
and spyware scans on your computer as what you described could be the result
of virus or spyware problem. --- Steve
