File Sharing Problem

A

Arsalan

Our network is Windows 2000 Active Directory based with 1 Apple Macintosh
running OS10 and the rest of the client's windows xp professional.

The problem that we are having is that whenever the Mac user opens any file
on any network share not only that file becomes inaccessible but all other
files in that folder get affected and other user on the network are unable
to save to that file or folder.

Can anyone please help?

Hello,

I am also having the same problem with a Windows 2000 Server with SFM and 10
Macs with OS 9.2. If a Mac users changes or adds files a folder, the entire
file permissions change for that folder.

The user gets full control of the file and folder and the groups that
originally had write and read permissions have them no longer. I have to go
into Windows Explorer and take ownership of the folder to reset the
permissions on the folder.

I have looked through the newsgroups and I have found some postings where
they have the same problem but they have not received a reply...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tom
