File Sharing on XP Home

I have 4 PCs networked . I can see all Shared files from all PC's but when I
try to access a file (ie open a picture); sometimes the PC will lock up
requireing Task Manager to close the application. In other cases the picture
will come up in the application but it takes several minutes to display. I
am using an SMC wireless router with 3 PC wired and one wireless. I am not
denied access to files, just locks up or takes far too long to access the
file.
Also when using Windows Explorer, I can see all shared files but if I try to
open a shared folder I get locked up or displaying the File Details takes far
too long.

Any time you have a problem like yours, and it involves a wireless connection,
it helps to start by removing the wireless connection from the picture. Can you
connect the one computer using Ethernet?

Next, look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer. Read
