I have one pc with os winxp sp2 hardwired to cable modem and other networked
pc aslo on os winxp sp2 but wireless. Hard wired computer has link sys router
wrt54g and wireless computer with link sys access point wmp54g.
I am unable to establish file sharing and folder sharing from one computer
to other
computer eitherway! I have enable file and print sharing but still does not
work and give error of "file access denied" in wired pc and in wireless pc
these "shared folders/files are not available at all!!

Same situation happened here. The worse things are that Windows local network
setting like a mistery things, I set up network and it worked and then
suddenly all do not work again, I adjust this adjust that and goback and work
again and next time it do not work again.
Recently I set up the network on laptop and desktop use window's setup
wizzard and establish the file printer share, couple days later the file
share and connectiong failed again, today I worked on half day and still can
not make it work again, it just simply do not let me connect to anoter
computer, do not know why, cause every thing in windows are hidden. They
changed something without my notice and I really frustrated by these so many
years.
Linux is much easier for network setting and powerful on network, but the
damm linux lost so many supports for mordern devices and lot of windows
application can not be ran on linux.
Why do not microsoft make simple network configuration files that pc-user
can simply modify them and keep those file in local access will be secure
enogth? they try to hide some thing with stupid wizard and the results are
their wizards fights each other made the computer became a "coplicaputer".
