file sharing from win2000 server

We have multiple oper systems in our network-win xp pro,
win 2000 and win 98. I recently put some files on the win
2000 server (it's a domain server) to be shared by all our
users. Those with win xp and win 2000 are able to access
the files with no problem, but those with win 98 cannot.
(but they CAN access the server-the new files we need to
share just don't show, nor do any other shared files). Is
there something on the server we must do to allow the win
98 folks to access these files? Thanks!!

Yes, there is something you can do: Make sure the Win98
users log on with an account/password that is also defined
on the Win2000 server (i.e. same account & password). If
they use an unknown account/password then they are
treated as strangers!

CAN access the server means nothing on this end. Please be specific.

To add, verify NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on the server, the Win98
machines are connecting to an NT domain and their workgroup matches the
pre-2000 domain name.
