file properties summary "greyed out"

I have some files I would like to add things to the Property Summary Tab.
It is "greyed out" and I can not select anything. Is there a way to turn it
back on? Thanks in advance!

What types of files are these? Depending on the file type, those properties
will not be available on a FAT partition.

The files are just JPG files. That I received from email... I've never
seen this before.

I was wrong, it was a bitmap. I converted it to a JPG and everything shows
up now.
