File i386 - CONTINUED....

Hi there.....

I just want to say thanx to all who have tried to help me.

Unfortunatley It doesnt seem to work.

The problem was this......In my start menu I have a question mark
icon...help & support. When i click this....a mesage comes up saying.....The
file 'helpctr.exe' could not be found' and it advises me to try retyping or
use search option.

I tried this to no avail....then i was advised to use file i386 which i
found on my system and copied to CD....following previous advise i tried to
use sfc /scannow which constantly asks for sp home ed CD....I have tried all
things that have been advised but it looks like i just cant get my help &
support icon to work.

If anyone knows what will WORK to get this icon to work again...let me
know......

Yours Hopefully,

Tommy cat ess - are you aware of:
http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en
use it wisely.

Caz, take a step back, you are having/have had, all sorts of problems, in
several areas.

Have you tried a system restore back to prior the trouble?

My guess is that your machine has been compromised by some malware?

Have another look here:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
With an emphasis on the Hijackthis section.
Post the results in the appropriate forum, for best results.
