Thank you for you input. But NO. I cannot delete the folder from command
prompt or b any known software either. I guess that the problem is consisting
of the two dots at the end of the folder name which are "pushing" the system
to go upwards into the hierarchy of the folders.

Hello Wesley,

Thank you for you input. But NO. I still can not delete the folder despite
all the sggested methods. Surprisingly it may be a difficult task even for
the peoples from Microsoft.

From the DOS prompt, type

DIR /X Word*

This will show the soft name for the directory.

You should be able to delete the diretory using the short name.

SOFT name? WTF did that come from? SHORT name....

David,

Once again thank you. Still get this answer from the system after typing
EXACTLY the way you indicate: "The system can not find the path specified"
The only difference I can see is that you deleted a file while I am looking
to do the same with a folder. I am not very exeperienced but I guess it
should not be the case..

kindly,

The title of your post says file error.

RD (remove directory) vs Del (delete file)

So something like

rd "\\?\c:\some folder\in some other folder\word document.."

Try dragging the folder into the command prompt to get windows to type it's name for you. Then add a " at the end, press Home key and add
rd "\\?\

at the front.

David,

THANK YOU. It worked!
