File conflicts when synchronizing

B

Brian

I have about 40 laptops using Windows XP pro SP1 and W2k
servers with SP4. I have the laptops set to synchronize
the user's home directory using group policy. My problem
is: When my user's change or create new files offline,
they are always prompted by the "File Conflict" dialog
box when they "jack in" to the network and log on. My
users have only access to their own home directory and
there would be no one else changing their files. My users
access their home directory by using "My Documents" and
folder redirection to a share on the server. They get
file conflicts no matter what type of file they are using.

Any ideas in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the posting. As you indicated, you have the laptops set to
synchronize the user's home directory using group policy. They received
"file conflict" dialog box when they log on to the network.

Based on your description, this can be related to your GPO settings.
Please check to ensure your GPO settings for synchronize is correct.

In addition, please refer to the following two knowledge base articles:

Hope the above information and suggestion helps. If anything is unclear,
please let me know.
