When I login to my computer as a domain users with admin privs and I
right-click on a tif (or other image), I do not have the option to open it
with photoshop CS2. If I browse to the program location and click on
photoshop CS2, it loses the link when it goes back one screen and reverts to
soenthing else. I can launch the program and can drop a jpg to it and it
opens.
Other users on that computer (including local and network logins) show
photoshop CS2 as an option for open-with.
Adobe tech is at a loss....
The programs (Creative Suite) were loaded as the domain user in question,
who also has admin rights on the local machine (explicitly)

See if registering Photoshop CS2 using the OpenWithAdd utility helps.

Registering a program with the "Open With" dialog:

Thank you very much. That little utility worked PERFECTLY, and the problem
seems to be resolved.

.....BTW, any idea what actually was going on? Why the link was not there
and what was 'added' by the utility???

You're very welcome! For some reason, Photoshop CS was not correctly
registered in the registry, and my utility rectifies that automatically.

I could not see exaclly where the details for that were in the registry. I
even tried doing a search for the path after the fix, but was unsure. Where
and what???

Thanks again. It's almost worth doing a restore to see exactly where the
problem was (killlist or NoOpenWith). Note that I said "almost" !
