Photoshop tutorial advice requested

(Perhaps this is not the correct forum to ask, but...) I just bought my
spouse Photoshop CS2 for her birthday. While she is no novice to
computers or cameras, she *will* be very much a novice to Photoshop
CS2. I am aware of three tutorial books: (1) Adobe's Classroom in a
Book; (2) Photoshop One-on-One (O'Reilly), and (3) Photoshop for
Dummies. Can anyone out there recommend one or t'other or yet another,
and tell me why? (Assistance very much appreciated before I commit: her
birthday is the 15th.)

Photoshop CS2 is not all that strange to users who may have used any
of the other applications that are available to manipulate digital
pictures, such as JASC Paintshop Pro, Irfanview, etc. For the digital
photographer, a book such as The Photoshop CS2 Book for Photographers
or the Complete Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers may have more
meaning and also be more rewarding. They allow the experienced person
to jump right in and transit from darkroom photographic techniques or
touch-up photofinishing tricks to similar or comparable digital ones.

The best recommendation would be to browse through a bookstore such as
Border's, Barnes & Noble, etc., and flip through the books that are on
sale. You are more familiar with your spouse's level of ability and one
needs in this area than a reader in this forum.

I am a travel photographer and have taken a number of seminars only to
forget most of the 'great' tips a day after however I discovered a 3 DVD
series called "total Photoshop Training" and I really like it because you
can study at your own pace, bookmark chapters and tips. This is 21 hours of
training from a to z and it is interactive. It is not cheap but worth it!
Take a look here:

Hope this helps you.
