All in Win XP. Got a friend pc that is giving him this: Create and
associated program in the Folder Option in the Control Panel".

I've told him to download PPS viewer, and assume he's done that. Normally,
it gets you set up automatically for PPS viewing. Maybe it's not doing
that here.

What do I do to make the program in Folder Option the right one?

PowerPoint Viewer 2003:

Is this regarding opening PPS files from an e-mail?

There is a conflict with PPS and XP/SP2. See this link for a fix:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ppsopen.htm

If still no joy:

Save the attachment to your HDD. Right click on it and Open With | Choose
Program. Find and choose a program that works, (PowerPoint Viewer), and then
check the box: Always use this program to open this kind of file. This
should enable you to open these attachments in the future.

This is from trying to open one in PPS format.

I told him how to download and install the PPS viewer.

This is from trying to open one /what/ in PPS format? A link in an e-mail,
or something else?
