Field containing link to external PDF file

We have an Access data base containing information about each "job" we
manufacture.

Each "job" also has a paper folder containing between 6 and 12 pages of
paper with important information about the job that is not in the Access
data base including diagrams and faxes received from customers.

We would like to scan these paper documents into a PDF file and add a field
in the Access data base linking the record in the Access data base to this
PDF file to allow a viewer to launch / view the PDF file from within the
Access data base.

Is there a way to do this?

have a look at the hyperlink capability of access. It will no open "In"
access but should satisfy your needs
